To provide a technology for cleaning a brush motor suitable for a vehicle air conditioner.

The vehicle air conditioner accumulates times T1a, T1b and T1c when a motor voltage is in a range of 0 to Vm1, and is rotated at high speed by a second prescribed time T2 by boosting the motor voltage to Vm2 when the sum of the accumulation reaches a first prescribed time T1. At this time, a port for blowing out air to the lower body side of an occupant is selected as an air blow-out port. Accordingly, since the cleaning of the brush motor is performed according to the deposit status of the abrasion powder of a brush, the wasteful consumption of electric energy can be eliminated. In addition, though a large quantity of air is blown into a cabin at the cleaning, an influence of the air exerted upon the occupant is mild as far as the air blow-out port is of a type which blows air to the lower body side of the occupant, and the sense of discomfort to the occupant can be alleviated.
