Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To place an on-vehicle antenna for VICS with good appearance, good placing ability, and small surface area.
SOLUTION: The on-vehicle antenna 10 for VICS is built in an instrument panel 20. The on-vehicle antenna 10 comprises a light receiving/emitting portion 11 for an optical beacon, a receiving portion 12 for a radio wave beacon, a printed circuit board 13, a coaxial cable 14, and a case 15 for storing these. The surface of the case 15 is flush with the surface of the instrument panel 20 to provide the same plane. The light receiving/emitting portion 11 is positioned above the receiving portion 12 so that the surface area of the case 15 is reduced.
