Title:
VEHICLE AZIMUTH DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0571978
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect an accurate azimuth by subtracting the output signal of an integration means from the azimuth signal of an earth magnetism sensor and attenuating the obtained difference signal to add the same to the angular velocity signal of an angular velocity sensor to supply the added signal to the integration means. CONSTITUTION:An earth magnetism azimuth operation circuit 3 operates an earth magnetism azimuth signal thetar from the X- and Y-component signals outputted from an earth magnetism sensor 1. A subtractor 4 is connected to the operation circuit 3 to calculates the difference signal of the signal thetar and the signal processed from an integrator 5. An attenuator 6 is connected to the subtractor 4. The output signal from the attenuator 6 and the angular velocity signal omega being the output signal of an angular velocity sensor 2 are supplied to an adder 7 and added by the adder 7 to be outputted. The integrator 5 integrates the signal outputted from the adder 7 to output the same as a detection azimuth signal theta. When a vehicle goes straight on, the signal theta is converged into the signal thetar. When the azimuth of the vehicle is changed, the low-band component of the signal 6 is determined on the basis of the signal thetar and the high-band component thereof is determined on the basis of the angle obtained by integrating the signal omega.
