Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the impact absorbing characteristic of a whole vehicle body in the vehicle structure having a torsion bar parallel to a side member of a frame of the vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: A vehicle 100 is provided with a vehicle body frame consisting of a side member 110 and cross members 121, 122, 123 to connect the side member. A lower control arm 140 to constitute the suspension to support a forward wheel 150 supports a forward end part 172 of a torsion bar 170 through a bracket 142 through the spline engagement. A rear end part 174 of the torsion bar 170 is supported by a bracket 160 through a receiving member 164 having the spline. The receiving member 164 is provided with a cap 166 to prevent the rearward penetration of the torsion bar 170. An impact absorbing member 200 to be fitted between the bracket 160 and the side member 110 absorbs the stress subjected by the bracket, and the impact absorbing characteristic of the whole vehicle body including the torsion bar is improved and stabilized.
