Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control device capable of avoiding a shortage in drive force while lowering an engine rotation speed during execution of cruise control.SOLUTION: An electronic control device 90 allows an upshift to be executed when cruise demand drive force Tccdem is equal to or lower than a value obtained by adding a first drive force equivalent TA1 which is drive force of a drive wheel 14 converted from engine power Pe1 produced through an engine 12 when an actual simulated gear stage MS is shifted up by one stage to a second drive force equivalent TA2 which is the drive force of the drive wheel 14 converted from power produced through a second rotary machine MG2 with the maximum output power of a battery 54. Thus, the electronic control device can make a timing of the upshift earlier than a case of executing the upshift when the cruise demand drive force Tccdem is equal to or lower than the first drive force equivalent TA1 and thereby achieving the cruise demand drive force Tccdem with the engine 12 and the second rotary machine MG2 after the upshift.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
