Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle, capable of suppressing propagation of a shock generated upon the start of an engine during motor traveling to a wheel in a hybrid vehicle as compared with conventional ones.SOLUTION: A control device for a vehicle including an engine, a motor generator, an accelerator pedal, a torque converter, and a transmission mechanism and starting the engine from the motor generator switches a transmission clutch to a release state (step S5) to start the engine (steps S8-S13) when an accelerator pedal is depressed during the stop of the engine and during an EV travel (steps S1-S4) and when an accelerator opening is large (step S4; YES), and switches a lock-up clutch to a release state (step S7) when the accelerator opening is not large (step S4; NO) to start the engine (steps S8-S13).
