To provide a vehicle dynamo-electric machine for improving a performance for cooling switching elements composing an inverter module, and for reducing a total size of the dynamo-electric machine.
The vehicle dynamo-electric machine is provided with a stator 16 having an armature winding 16a, a rotor 15 having a rotating shaft 13, a cooling fan 17 disposed in the rotor 15, front and rear brackets 10, 11 for supporting the stator 16 and rotatably supporting the rotating shaft 13, and a cover 30 disposed in an exterior of a wall of the rear bracket 11 in the axial direction. A pair of the switching elements 41a, 41b are adjacently disposed in a space between the rear bracket 11 and the cover 30 in the axial direction. A ventilation holes 31a is formed so as to take outside air into a wall of the cover 30 in the axial direction. The outside air flows from the ventilation holes 31a to the switching elements 41a, 41b by a rotation of the cooling fan 17, and exits through an intake hole 11a and an exhaust hole 11b provided in the rear bracket 11.
