To integrate various functions such as an entertainment function of music playing and radio broadcasting reception or the like, a communication function of telephone and data communication or the like, and a navigation function or the like.
A dash unit 12 includes a GPS receiver 40 for receiving radio frequency signals and computing a vehicle position from the signals, a display device 14 for displaying navigational or other information, a digital data player 32 for reading map information from a CD-ROM, and playing audio from an audio CD. A handset 24 functions as a remote controller and also functions as a wireless telephone.
