To simplify charging control at low cost, relating to a vehicle on which a current collecting device for obtaining electric current from an overhead wire and an accumulator are mounted, for travelling on a track not having the wire partially.
A vehicle 1 travels on a track 10 not having the wire partially, with a current collecting device 4 for obtaining power from an overhead wire 3 and an accumulator 13 mounted on a vehicle body. The vehicle includes a charger main circuit 21 which supplies a load current Iload obtained by subtracting a charge current Ibatt to the accumulator 13 from a current Idc obtained from the current collecting device 4, to a wheel drive motor 8 through an inverter 7. It also includes a charger 2 consisting of a charge control part 22 which controls a voltage value and a current value of the output power from the charger main circuit 21, and a recovery circuit 5 which returns a regenerative power obtained with a regenerative brake only to the accumulator 13 without applying it to the current collecting device 4. In an overhead wire section, the accumulator 13 is charged while a voltage of the accumulator 13 is kept at a set value or lower by the charge control part 22.
