PURPOSE: To make the device compact, by projecting the running locus, which is plotted on a projection type CRT, on a thermal effect type cholesteric liquid crystal panel, and further projecting the locus on a screen together with a map pattern in a map film.
CONSTITUTION: The running locus, which is plotted on the CRT display 2, is projected to a optical modulator 8. Ultraviolet rays are converted into heat by a converter 8C, and a thermal image is formed in the optical modulator 8. Meanwhile, irradiated light from a light source 9 is supplied to a polarizer 11 through a lens 10, and lineary polarized light is obtained. The output light from the optical modulator 8 passes a light detector 12, and becomes the light having a bright distinctive image. Said light is expanded by a lens 15 through the map film 14 and projected on the screen 16.
