In the on-vehicle navigation device includes a current position detection means for detecting current position; a map storage means for storing map information containing position information on refueling places; a route search means for searching for a route from the current position to a refueling place nearest from the current position; and a display means for displaying the searched route, together with the map information, the navigation device further includes a remaining amount detection means for detecting the remaining amount of fuel enabling the vehicle to travel; a determination means for calculating a necessary fuel amount required for the vehicle to reach the nearest refueling place from the current position, based on the fuel efficiency of the vehicle and the route from the current position to the nearest refueling place, and determining whether the vehicle can reach the nearest refueling place from the current position, on the basis of the remaining amount and the necessary amount; and a switching means for switching electrical components consuming the fuel over to an energy saving state, when the vehicle is determined as being incapable of reaching the neatest refueling place from the current position.
