Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle from straying when traveling at a curved part by arranging a vehicle position temporarily on plural roads of the curved part, and employing the road which has the least mismatching range between the straight travel part of a travel track and the azimuth of the road as a course. CONSTITUTION:The straight travel part is detected from the travel track and when there is only one road which has a small azimuth difference in a presence estimation area, the vehicle position is corrected to the road. A curved part detecting means 108 detects the curved part from the travel track and a road retrieval means 109 retrieves the road which has a small azimuth difference from the straight travel part following the detected curved part. When there are plural roads retrieved, the vehicle position is arranged temporarily on the respective roads, a parallel tracking means 110 performs parallel tracking, and a mismatching rate calculating means 111 calculates the mismatching rates of the roads and the straight travel part detected from the travel track during the travel tracking to employ the road as the travel course when its mismatching rate is less than a threshold value and a constant value.
