Abstract:
To provide a vehicle-use power storage device that, in the case where collision of a vehicle is predicted, sets a power storage device installed on a vehicle to a safe state before collision.SOLUTION: A vehicle-use power storage device comprises: a main circuit part which is constituted by serially connecting a plurality of electricity storage modules in order to supply electric power for driving a vehicle; a discharging circuit part for discharging individually output electric power from a plurality of electricity storage modules; collision prediction means for predicting collision of a vehicle; and a heater for individually raising the temperature of the electricity storage modules. The electricity storage module is equipped with a plurality of storage batteries, the storage batteries are constituted while sandwiching a sheet-like separator which allows a charged object to pass between a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate. In the case where the collision prediction means predicts collision of a vehicle, electric power of the electricity storage modules is output to the discharging circuit part and the heater is activated, by which the separator is modified in order to prevent the charged object to pass between the plates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
