Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound effect generator for vehicles, capable of making a driver feel a more realistic sense of being in a vehicle traveling through a curve by audibly providing the driver with travel information.SOLUTION: A sound effect generator 1 for vehicles includes a rotation speed sensor 3, an accelerator opening sensor 4, and a gain setting unit 13 that sets gains a1-a3, b1-b3, c1, c2 for a plurality of integer-order components of engine speed based on an accelerator opening degree detected by the accelerator opening sensor 4. The sound effect generator is configured to generate sound effects based on the gains a1-a3, b1-b3, c1, c2 set by the gain setting unit 13 and a vibration sound database for the plurality of integer-order components stored in a storage unit 11. The sound effect generator also includes a travel state determination unit 12 that determines if a vehicle V is traveling through a curve and, if so determined, the gain b1 for the fourth-order component, among the plurality of integer-order components, is set to a value greater than the gain a1 for the fourth-order component applied when the vehicle is traveling normally.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
