Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle travel support system capable of controlling a vehicle to follow a preceding vehicle while considering behavior of pedestrians.SOLUTION: A vehicle travel support system 100 includes: a transmission/reception section 101 that transmits a radio wave and receives a reflection wave; a detection section 110 that detects pedestrians and preceding vehicles travelling in front of own vehicle based on strength of reflection waves; and a control unit 108 that, when the detection section 110 detects that a preceding vehicle and vehicles come to a standstill and pedestrians during follow-up travel following the preceding vehicle, controls the vehicle to maintains the standstill state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
