Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly determine first speed hold transmission stage and especially improve responsiveness of disengagement of a first speed clutch under a low temperature, in an automatic transmission which has both first speed clutch and first speed hold clutch.
SOLUTION: A first speed clutch C1 and a first speed hold clutch CLH are arranged in parallel. A second clutch piston 44 to be engaged with the first speed hold clutch CLH is housed inside a first clutch piston 43 to be engaged with the first speed clutch C1 in a relatively movable manner. A check valve 48 is arranged on the first clutch piston 43. When a first speed hold transmission stage is determined, operation oil is supplied to a first clutch oil chamber 46 and the first speed clutch C1 is engaged. Afterward, operation oil is also supplied to a second clutch oil chamber 55, and the first speed hold clutch CLH is engaged. Oil discharging ports 53, 54 are formed on a clutch outer 31. The operation oil, flowed out from the check valve which is opened at the time of disengaging of the first speed clutch C1, is speedily discharged.
