Abstract:
To provide an electric power steering apparatus that includes a steering link mechanism and improvement in the incorporation in a vehicle and a freedom of design as compared to a hydraulic power steering apparatus that adopts a rack-pinion device extending in a front-back direction of a vehicle.SOLUTION: An electric power steering apparatus includes: left and right swing arm members 16L, 16R; left and right tie rods 18L, 18R pivot-connected to arm parts 32L, 32R of the swing arm members via a relay rod 20 on respective inner ends of the tie rods; the relay rod 20 pivot-connected to the arm parts 32L, 32R at both ends of the relay rod; a rack-pinion device 22, of which one end of a rack bar is connected to an arm part 34L of one swing arm member; and a steering input transmission system 24 for transmitting a steering input to the rack-pinion device. Further, an electric steering assist power provision device 80 is connected to an arm part 34R of the other swing arm member 16R, so that force assisting swinging of the other swing arm member is given to the other swing arm member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
