Abstract:
To provide a steering apparatus that has a steering link mechanism and is capable of improving the incorporation in a vehicle and the freedom of design as compared to a rack-pinion steering apparatus.SOLUTION: A steering apparatus includes: left and right swing arm members (16L, 16R); left and right tie rods (18L, 18R) pivot-connected to arm parts (32L, 32R) of the swing arm members via a relay rod (20) on respective inner ends of the tie rods; the relay rod (20) pivot-connected to the arm parts (32L, 32R) at both ends of the relay rod; a rack-pinion device (22), of which one end of a rack bar is connected to an arm part (34L) of one swing arm member; and a steering input transmission system (24) for transmitting a steering input to the rack-pinion device. Further, the rack-pinion device (22) includes a pair of press devices (68) that are disposed on both sides of a pinion along a longitudinal direction of the rack bar and press the rack bar against the pinion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
