Title:
VENTILATOR FOR AIR CONDITIONER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01163545
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the pressure loss and piping component requirement by fitting an air conditioner with the outdoor air inlet of an outdoor air passage and the outlet from an indoor air suction blower both the inlet and the outlet on the same side of the body. CONSTITUTION:In ventilating a room through total heat exchange, the outdoor air is drawn through an air inlet 5 on the outdoor side of the body 11 into an outdoor air passage 12, and then passed through a total heat exchange element 3 and a sensible heat exchange element 4, and pumped by an outdoor air suction blower 10 and, after passage through an indoor heat exchanger 13, delivered to the interior through an outlet on the indoor side, whereas the indoor air is drawn through an air inlet 8 on the indoor side into an indoor air passage 15, passed move an air passage switching damper 2 (closed), and guided by an air passage switching damper 1 (open), passed lengthways across the total heat exchange element 3 to that total heat exchange takes place between the indoor air and the outdoor air which flows breadthways. After the heat exchange, the indoor air is guided into a heat-exchange air passage 16, and pumped by an indoor air discharge blower 9, exhausted through an air outlet 6 on the outdoor side. With both the air outlet 6 and the air inlet 5 on the outdoor side disposed on the same side of the body 11, this ventilator dispenses with an elbow which would otherwise be required to have the openings facing in the same direction to suit the piping.
