Title:
VERTICALLY MAGNETIZED RIGID DISK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61287028
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the durability to substantially withstand recording and reproducing by contact with a magnetic head to a vertically magnetized rigid disk and to provide the resolving power to the max. extent by adjusting the surface roughness of said disk to Rmax <50.

CONSTITUTION: A high magnetic permeability layer 2 is formed directly or via an underlying layer onto the surface of a rigid base body 1 consisting of ceramics such as tempered alumina silicate glass and a vertical anisotropic film 3 is formed directly or via an intermediate layer onto the layer 2. The surface roughness thereof is adjusted to Rmax <50. The vertically magnetized rigid disk which has the durability to substantially withstand the recording and reproducing by contact with the magnetic head, obviates the generation of a head crash, etc. and can provide the high resolving power possessed by the disk itself to the max. extent is thus obtd.
