Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a vibration-proof support device and to reduce the device to a compact size by disposing a ball circulation hole on a ball nut and interposing an inertia ring between the ball nut and a housing with the ball circulating hole sandwiched. CONSTITUTION:A ball screw rod 1 is fitted and retained in a housing 5 through bearings 6, 7 and the outer peripheral surface of the ball screw rod 1 is provided with a spiral groove permitting balls 2 to roll thereon and with a ball nut 3 contacting the ball screw rod 1 through the balls 2. A continuous groove portion where the balls 2 circulate is disposed on the ball nut 3, and the balls 2 are arranged in an axial straight line on the outer peripheral portion of the ball nut 3. In this arrangement, at a sudden load, the ball 2 itself is pressed to the inner surface of the housing 5 by the inertia force of the ball nut and an inertia ring 4 to stop rotation of the ball nut 3 and brake the axial operation of the ball screw rod 1.
