PURPOSE: To converge a torsional vibration in an early stage and to reduce vibration in a vehicle body by directly controlling torque of an engine on the basis of a torsional vibration of a drive shaft, which causes vibration in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body during acceleration of the vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: An engine torque controlling means E controls engine torque. An angle of torsion detecting means A detects an angle of torsion in a drive shaft. An engine torque correcting means D receives a signal of the angle of torsion detecting means A to output a correction signal to the engine torque controlling means E. When a torsional vibration is generated and it is generated on an increasing change side of the angle of torsion, the engine torque is reduced for the predetermined duration. On the other hand, when the torsional vibration is generated on the reducing change side of the angle of torsion, the engine torque is increased for the predetermined duration. In this way, the torsional vibration in a drive shaft is surely converged during the acceleration of the vehicle in an early stage, that the vibration in a vehicle body can be surely reduced.
