To provide a stereoscopic photographing method adopting a 3-camera system where three video cameras especially with the same optical performance are used and one camera controls the other two cameras and to provide the stereoscopic photographing video camera.

The center camera 2 detects information such as a focal point and a parallax angle, a section arithmetic means based on the parallax angle discriminates to which section a camera belongs from the detection result and the left right cameras are controlled by the discrimination result in this 3-camera system.
