Abstract:

To add metadata wherein a characteristic amount is analyzed, to metadata (a performer of a program, a genre or the like) imparted to a video for retrieval.

In this video data management device, video data are monitored, video data to be indexed are designated, related information is outputted as initial metadata, the indexing is applied to the designated video data, a representative image is selected on the basis of indexing metadata, a list of the video data is generated, the additional metadata are generated on the basis of the initial metadata and the indexing metadata, each piece of the generated data is stored in a metadata DB, the metadata DB is searched on the basis of an inputted retrieval key, information on the Internet is retrieved, and a retrieval result is collectively displayed inside one window newly generated in a display means.
