Abstract:

PURPOSE: To search an unrecorded track in a high speed by providing a discriminating means which discriminates whether a signal track obtained from this reproducing means is a recorded track or an unrecorded track by a signal obtained from a signal reproducing means.

CONSTITUTION: An inputted RF signal is detected by an envelope detecting circuit 35, waveform-shaped by a waveform shaping circuit 36 and formed into a waveform shown in the figure. When this signal is inputted to a retriggerable multi-vibrator 37 in which the time constant is set longer than the period of an inputted pulse, since no RF signal is obtained in the unrecorded part, the output of the multivibrator 37 is changed from high to low level. This signal is inputted to a microcomputer 22 and a feeding motor is stopped. High speed search of the unrecorded track is attained by the method above.
