PURPOSE: To easily confirm the layout of a print without decreasing the resolu tion by facilitating the operation in multiple mode wherein plural same images are printed on one sheet of photographic paper on the video printer which prints external input image information on the photographic paper.

CONSTITUTION: This video printer is provided with a frame memory 7 which stores a video signal of one screen, and a read circuit 13 reads the video data out of the frame memory 7 line by line. Then a print data control circuit 25 processes print data of plural same images and supplies the resulting data to a printing unit 14. Further, a print layout display circuit outputs data on the layout display of the printing from the output of a controller 6 which controls the frame memory 7.
