To provide a video recording apparatus and video recording reserving method, in which metadata of video recording data can be efficiently utilized.
The video recording apparatus 10 according to the present invention includes a CPU 11, a RAM 12, a ROM 13, a network connection section 14, a tuner 15, an input device 16, a display device 17, a clock generation section 18 and a group 20 of storage sections. The CPU 11 controls, according to a program stored in the ROM 13, processing operation of the video recording apparatus 10. The CPU 11 loads to the RAM 12 a video recording reservation program stored in the ROM 13 and data required for executing the program and executes, according to the video recording reservation program, processing for editing video recording reservation information and video recording data utilizing metadata of the video recording data.
