Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent important conditions of the enhanced video special effect device from being lost by converting an input field of interlaced scanning into a field of non-interlaced scanning, applying special effect processing to the converted field and restoring the scanning again into the interlaced scanning. CONSTITUTION: A frame buffer 10 gives three video frame signals to a motion detection non-interlaced scanning interpolation device 16. The interpolation device 16 is properly operated like a conventional motion detection non- interlaced scanning filter and generates a continuous scanning video signal output. Then the continuous scanning video signal is given to video special effect blocks 18, 30, a horizontal (H) anti-aliasing filter 28, and a vertical (V) anti-aliasing filter 38, in which the video signal is processed. In this case, the 1st interpolation device 16 converts an interlacing scanning video signal into a non-interlaced scanning video signal, the video special block applies special effect processing to the non-interlaced scanning video signal and finally a 2nd interpolation device converts the non-interlaced scanning video signal into an interlaced scanning video signal again.
