PURPOSE: To make it sufficient to use one device, to miniturize a receiver/transmitter and to reduce its cost by making it possible simultaneously to display a video to be transmitted by the receiving side as well as to disply a video from the opposite side on one video display part.
CONSTITUTION: The titled device displays its transmitting video 11 on an approximate half of a video display part 5 and a video 12 from the opposite side on the remaing screen. A video signal made in an image-pickup part 6 is transmitted to a transmitting line 7 and directly inputted to a converting part 15 at the right side through a mirror image converting part 13 or by switching a switch 14. Then the video signal is displayed on the right part of the video display part 5. On the other hand, a video signal from the opposite party is displayed on the left part of the video display part 5 through a transmitting line 3, a converting part 17 at the left side and a synthesizing pat 16. A mirror image converting part 13 has a function to make the self video 11 displayed on the video display part 5 into a mirror image with respect to an original picture.
