Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the viscoelasticity of rubber material by placing a specimen between two dies, cooling it at least once, restrict pressure drop to avoid the slide of the specimen between the dies, heat it again and measuring torque in an at-least-one cooling period to provide the dynamic property of the specimen.
CONSTITUTION: Both dies 1, 2 are located to open, material specimen to be tested is filled in the lower die 2 and both dies are closed. The dies, when closed, are kept at temperatures of 70-200°C so as to soften the material accurately corresponding to the shape of the dies. After the dies are closed, the material is cooled at a speed of 2°C/sec in a short time, generally within 60 seconds. The temperature of the specimen, after cooled, is preferably 0-20°C. The torque, pressure and temperature of the material is information for machining property. Then, it is heated again at a peed of 1°C/sec and cooled again at least once while monitoring the torque, temperature and pressure.
