Abstract:

To provide a walking difficulty setting system capable of guiding a route easing walking on the basis of information that can be collected from a general-use portable phone.

A walking difficulty setting system, for use in displaying map information including a walking route to a destination on a user portable phone, includes: user information acquisition means for acquiring, from a portable phone, the number of walking-steps required by the user carrying the portable phone in order for the user to pass through a unit section that is a minimum unit selectable as a walking route and acquiring information identifying start and end points of the unit section; and walking difficulty setting means for calculating the number of walking-steps in a unit distance that is the number of walking-steps per unit distance of the unit section on the basis of the number of required walking-steps and the distance of the unit section, and setting walking difficulty for the aforementioned unit section so that the walking difficulty increases with the number of walking-steps in the unit distance.
