To provide a washing apparatus in which a work is washed, dried and moved by making good use of horizontal movement of the upper part of a tank while surely removing impurities stuck to the work rapidly, adjusting the supply amount of a washing liquid and removing the impurities floating on the washing liquid and there is no limit to the area of an opening.

This washing apparatus is constituted of the tank dividable into the upper part and the lower part, a conveying means, a plurality of work holding rails and ultrasonic generators arranged in the lower part of the tank, the upper part of the tank to be combined with the lower part of the tank, an elevating/lowering means for elevating/lowering the upper part of the tank, an arm mechanism for conveying the work, a moving means for moving the arm mechanism forward or backward, another moving means for swinging or returning the arm mechanism. The conveying means is disposed on the same plane as those of the work holding rails and moved horizontally so that the work is washed and dried by combining the lower part of the tank with the upper part of the tank.
