To provide a wastewater treatment apparatus capable of coping with the treatment of various harmful components employing a simple structure.
The wastewater treatment apparatus includes first ceramic granules 1 consisting of a porous ceramic which contains at least an oxide of an element selected from the group consisting of iron, aluminum, silicon, titanium, zirconium, cobalt, potassium, and magnesium, and the group consisting of molybdenum, manganese, nickel, copper, zinc, and cadmium, and second ceramic granules 2 consisting of a porous ceramic including hydroxyapatite, both ceramic granules 1, 2 disposed on a porous ceramic board 5, below which permanent magnets 3 covered by a rust-preventive film are allocated. Chlorine or a hypochlorite is first added to the wastewater to be treated. An organic substance or the like is decomposed by the catalytic action etc. of the first ceramic granules and heavy metal ions or the like is removed from the wastewater by the second ceramic granules 2.
