To obtain a water-cooled high-voltage semiconductor device in which leaking water can be introduced quickly and securely to a detector without spattering, and furthermore, water leaking from the neighborhood of a header tank also can be collected and detected.
A plurality of thyristor modules 3, in which thyristor devices 1 and accessorial circuits are incorporated, are stacked vertically with insulating supporting members 4 therebetween. The thyristor devices 1 are connected to water-cooled resistors 19 with internal pipings 17 and 18, through which cooling water is circulated. Header tanks 37a and 37b which supply and drain the cooling water are provided outside the respective thyristor modules 3. An external water supply/drain apparatus is connected to the header tanks 37a and 37b through external pipings 8. A water leakage detector 31 provided on the ground, external leaking water sinks 39 provided beneath the header tanks 37a and 37b and leaking water introducing means 32 and 35, which are provided between the external water sinks 39 and the water leakage detector 31 and introduce the leaking water collected in the external leaking water sinks to the water leakage detector 31 are provided.
