Abstract:
To provide a water electrolysis apparatus capable of avoiding damage to an electrolyte membrane or a seal member.SOLUTION: A differential pressure type high pressure water electrolysis apparatus 10 comprises a large O-ring 72 as the seal member that seals a cathode side and a pressure-resistant member 74 that surrounds the large O-ring 72 from the outside. Convexoconcaves including a concave part 90 and a convex part 92 are provided on a lower surface (first end surface) facing an electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 30 and an upper surface (second end surface) facing a cathode side separator 34 of the pressure-resistant member 74. Therefore, the lower surface and the upper surface of the pressure-resistant member 74 are in contact with an insulating ring body 94 and the cathode side separator 34 through a tip surface of the convex part 92, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
