Abstract:
To provide a method associated with limiting the potential for galvanic corrosion relating to a weather strip assembly that includes dissimilar metals, and associated with isolating dissimilar metals in the assembly.SOLUTION: A weather strip assembly includes a body having a carrier or core formed of a first metal for providing strength and rigidity to the body. An exposed surface of the weather strip assembly is formed of a second metal different than the first metal. The second metal functions as the exposed surface of the weather strip assembly. An isolative, electrically low conductivity layer is received only on portions of the first metal that are disposed adjacent to portions of the second metal and potentially subject to electrical contact between these metals.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
