Title:
WEATHER STRIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3763919
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an extent of uniform sealability of this weather strip extending over the whole circumference upon preventing its fall to the indoor side at the corner of a vehicle opening by making its rigidity in the part of a lower sealing wall at the outdoor side of a hollow sealing part to be the highest, but that in the part of an upper sealing wall at the outdoor side to be the lowest the other way, in the same sectional form over the full length.
SOLUTION: A hollow sealing part is almost ovoid as a whole, and its apex is provided with a seal lip 11. As to wall thickness in a wall part 12 of the hollow sealing part, wall thickness in a lower sealing wall S11 at the outdoor side is the thickest, and that in an upper sealing wall S12 at the outdoor side is the thinnest. Wall thickness in a sealing wall S2 at the indoor side is almost intermediate between both sealing walls S11 and S12 at the outdoor side. Therefore, the lower sealing wall S11 at the outdoor side is highest in rigidity and thereby being hard to be deformed. On the other hand, the upper sealing wall S12 at the outdoor side is lowest in rigidity and thereby being easily deformed. If being bent, a position of the seal lip 11 along the cross direction of a trim part T remains almost unchanged by a deformation difference in respective sealing walls. Thus, uniform sealability is securable extending over the whole circumference.
