Title:
WEAVING OF FABRIC HAVING TUCK-IN SELVAGE AND DOUP UNIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH073578
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a technical method for forming a tuck-in selvage of plain weave at both the ends of a fabric such as a twill weave without using an extra reed in a shuttleless loom.

CONSTITUTION: A doup unit 34 driven by a through shaft 23 rotating synchronously with the clank shaft of a loom is set at both the end parts of a fabric so as to treat the cut end of a weft yarn with a binding yarn passing through the doup unit. A pair of shedding rods 20 and 21 driven by the through shaft 23 and alternately moved up and down are set respectively at both the end parts of the doup unit so as to weave plural warp yarns 30 and 31 passing through the shedding rods 20 and 21 into a tuck-in selvage of plain weave at both the ends of the fabric. As a concrete constitution of this doup unit, warp yarn shedding members each composed of a pair of warp yarn shedding rods 20 and 21 alternately moved up and down by two cams fixed to a cam shaft 2 driving shedding members 9, 10 and 11 of the doup unit are equipped and one or plural warp yarns are allowed to pass through each warp yarn shedding rod.
