To provide a welding method and a welding apparatus capable of simultaneously controlling a heat source mode and a bead shape, preventing any shape defect and solving a metallurgical problem in a melt welding such as an arc welding and a laser beam welding.
In the welding method, a molten pool 10 is formed by generating an arc 9 opposite to a base material 8, and the AC magnetic field including the DC magnetic field component in the direction across the arc 9 and the current running in the molten pool. In the welding apparatus for forming the molten pool 10 by generating the arc 9 opposite to the base material 8, opposing magnetic poles 7a, 7b are provided in a vicinity of an asymmetric AC magnetization power supply 5 and the molten pool 10, the opposing magnetic poles are excited by the asymmetric AC magnetization power supply, and the AC magnetic field including the DC magnetic field component is generated in the direction across the arc 10 and the current running in the molten pool.
