Title:
WET-TYPE FRICTION MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010117034
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a wet-type friction material capable of stabilizing initial friction characteristics without performing initial running-in work, polishing, or cutting and thereby preventing the generation of unnecessary polished dust or cutting dust and significantly shortening manufacturing time by reducing manufacturing processes.

In the wet-type friction material 1, a base material 3 for ring-shaped friction material is compressed and fixed on a surface of a core metal 2 by being pressurized and heated with production molds 4, 5, a taper with an angle corresponding to a taper on the outer peripheral side of the upper mold 4 is given to the outer peripheral side of the base material 3 for a ring-shaped friction material, and the taper is formed so as to make the thickness of the base material 3 for a ring-shaped friction material in the radial direction thin from half-way in the radial direction toward an outer peripheral direction. When the ring-shaped wet-type friction material 1 is engaged with a disk within a range of depth from the surface to thickness of 1-15 m, the wet-type friction material is smoothly engaged with the disk from its outer peripheral side as a face in order to stabilize an initial friction coefficient.
