To overcome a problem such that upsizing of a device, an increase in weight and the like are caused by securement of rigidity because a concentrated load acts on an end of a link arm of the conventional device.
A wheelchair elevating device is equipped with: a carriage which is provided slidably on both slide rails provided on a vehicle body floor, and slide-driven in a lengthwise direction by a driving mechanism; paired support members 5 and 6 which are provided in the carriage in a vertically slidable state; and an elevating plate 7 which is provided between the support members 5 and 6, and allows a wheelchair to be placed and supported on a top surface. A pair of first link members 27 and a pair of second link members 28, which hold the elevating plate 7 in an approximately horizontal state, are provided between a front end 21 and both the support members 5 and 6, and between a base end 20 and both the support members 5 and 6, respectively. Additionally, third link members 42, which are turnably provided between the front end 21 and both the support members 5 and 6, support attitudes of both split ends in positions in which the link members 27 and 28 linearly overlap each other midway along a turning locus in the folding or unfolding direction of the elevating plate 7.
