Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive wheelchair that facilitates a care-giver to help a care-receiver lying on bedding of a bed or a tatami mat to get on the wheelchair.SOLUTION: A wheelchair is characterized as follows: wheels 3 are provided to a base 1 with a rear opened and substantially U-shaped in a plan view; a pair of left and right support bars 5 is set up in the vertical direction in a front 1b of the base 1; an elbow rest frame 7 with a rear 7a opened and substantially U-shaped in a plan view and a seat frame 9 with a rear 9a opened and substantially U-shaped in a plan view are supported in the support bars so that the elbow rest frame is positioned in an upper side from the seat frame, and the elbow rest frame and the seat frame become freely liftable, respectively; a backrest 11 is removably provided in the rear 7a of the elbow rest frame; a seat 19 is removably provided in the rear 9a of the seat frame; and thereby the care-receiver is enabled to get on the wheelchair from the rear side of the wheelchair in a forward posture.
