Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an entirely new type whitening agent suppressing polymerization of DOPAchrome by trapping a melanin monomer.
SOLUTION: This whitening agent contains a substance group having a property forming a complex with melanin monomer, e.g. a boron containing compound and/or a natural substance derived from animals, plants or microorganisms as an active ingredient. One or two or more kinds of compounds selected from a group comprising boronophenylalanine, boroglycine, borodimethylglycine, potassium borotartarate, boric acid, dihydroxyphenylborane, borobetaine and sodium tetraborate are exemplified as the boron-containing compound.
