Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a wide-band input impedance characteristic by dividing the extent of the height of a radio wave absorber having a structure in which gap sections and ferrite sections are regularly repeated like a fin or lattice type radio wave absorber and changing the height, effective dielectric constant, and effective permeability of each divided section.
CONSTITUTION: This wide-band radio wave absorber is provided with magnetic crosspieces F continuously arranged at regular intervals S in a grid on a reflecting plate M. The thickness tm of each magnetic crosspiece F is successively reduced in steps against the radio wave arriving direction from the reflecting plate M. When the overall height of one magnetic crosspiece F measured along the radio wave arriving direction from the plate M is represented by (h), the height (h) is divided into a prescribed number of parts h1, h2, h3,..., hn in the radio wave arriving direction from the plate M. This radio wave absorber is constituted so that relations h=h1+h2+h3...+hn and h>tm1, tm2, tm3,..., tmn can be established, with the tm1, tm2, tm3,..., tmn being the thicknesses of the magnetic material corresponding to each divided height, and the interval S can satisfy a relation S≥tm1.
