To stably perform regular winding even if a wire is wound to a magnetic pole for a plurality of layers.
A winding device 100 includes: a flyer 4 which turns around a magnetic pole 2 in a multi-pole armature 1, moves in a magnetic pole radial direction and winds a wire 3 to the magnetic pole 2; and a pair of formers 15 and 16 which are arranged so as to sandwich the magnetic pole 2, move in the magnetic pole radial direction with the movement of the flyer 4 and guide the wire 3 which is let out from the flyer 4 to the magnetic pole 2. The device winds the wire 3 to each magnetic pole 2 of the multi-pole armature 1 for a plurality of layers. The device also includes an axis alignment mechanism 99 which relatively moves the flyer 4 and the multi-pole armature 1 so that a rotation axis of the flyer 4 is matched with a winding center axis of the multilayer wire wound to the magnetic pole 2 during winding to the magnetic pole 2.
