PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of excessive stresses to the lower part of the window glass when the lower part of the window glass is tightly fixed to an elevating table of an elevating mechanism through a retainer or when the window glass is elevated/lowered.
CONSTITUTION: A fitting hole 11 is formed to the lower side of a window glass 7. A retainer 12 consists of an approximately U-shaped sectioned retainer body 13 which is fitted to the lower part of the window glass 7 and a projecting body 16 which is projected from a side wall 14 of this retainer body 13 and inserted into the fitting hole 11. A bolt 18 is screwed into the projecting body 16 by passing through the other side wall 15 of the retainer body 13. A cylindrical body 36 which is projected from the retainer body 13 on the approximately same axial line as that of the projecting body 16 and inserted between the inner circumferential surface of the fitting hole 11 and the outer circumferential surface of the projecting body 16 is provided. A clearance 37 is formed between the outer circumferential surface of the projecting body 16 and the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical body 36.
