To reduce excessive generation of acknowledgment signals by sending back the acknowledgment signal of a receiving device at appropriate timing without modifying the settings of a transmission device to improve communication throughput.
A mobile phone 110, which is a wireless communication device connected to a network for sending and receiving data by transmitting an acknowledgment signal to a source of packet upon packet reception, includes a communication part 222 for connecting to the network, a timer part 240 for clocking a first time upon reception of the first packet by the communication part 222, and an acknowledgment signal transmitting part 244 for controlling the communication part 222 not to send the acknowledgment signal in response to the received packet regardless of number of packet receptions after the first packet while clocking the first time but to send the acknowledgment signal after completion of the first time.
