PURPOSE: To make a large-sized, weighty work conveyable freely in a short time with no damage, by installing a conveyer line, conveying the work endwise, and a carrying in-and-out device being orthogonal with a lifter and the line both in each front downside of both face-to-face machine tools.

CONSTITUTION: After turning by a machine tool M1 is over, a work W being conveyed by a work conveyor like A is once stopped between machining stations of two machine tools M2 and M3, lifted up to height of a machining position by a lifter 10, making a conveying bar 16 move to the left, and accepted in a work receiving pan, then further it is fed to the machining station of the machine tool M2 with the bar 16 shifted to the left, thus turning takes place. Next, after machining is over, the work W is conveyed to the machine M4 by a conveyor line B. Thus, the work is conveyed horizontally and vertically with the work receiving plan so that there is no damage to the work and, what is more, the work gets off with two pieces in the maximum mounted on the bar so that conveying time can be speeded up.
