To provide an inexpensive working tool having high hardness and wear and abrasion resistance and capable of preventing an iron material from being weld-deposited on the working tool.
A polishing device is provided with a rotary body 2. The surface of the rotary body 2 is coated with composite plating 21, which is provided with a nickel plating 22 as metallic plating coated by electroplating treatment and carbon nanotubes 23 dispersed in a non-orientation manner in the nickel plating 22. The carbon nanotube 23 protrudes from a surface of the nickel plating 22. The rotary body 2 has the hardness being substantially equal to that of diamond, thereby improving wear and abrasion resistance, owing to this configuration. Since ratio of carbon nanotubes in a contact part is small and the carbon nanotube has excellent thermal conductivity, this working tool, being different from a diamond tool, does not allow the iron material to be deposited on it to enable working at high speed with high precision.
