PURPOSE: To simplify holding of a recording head and a driving system, by arranging plural bits of scanners forming a recording head of a cylindrical scanning type printer in tilting to the axial line of a cylindrical recorder by an angle corresponding to a spiral scanning angle.
CONSTITUTION: An array shaped scanner 1 of a recording head 2 is arranged in tilting to the axial line A of a cylindrical recorder 3 as shown in the figure. This titled angle is set equal to the scanning angle when the recording head 2 scans the cylindrical recorder 3 in spiral. The recording head 2 is shifted toward the arrow Y' by the amount corresponding to the width of the image when the recorder 3 turns once. Thus, since the moving direction of the recording head is the same as the axial line of the recorder 3, the device for fitting and moving the recording head can be simplified.
